Take a look at some pages from the upcoming first arc, The Avengers Situation.

Avengers Armageddon ended with the mainline Avengers team taken off the board, leaving a prominent hole to fill when it comes to defending the world. Enter the X-Men, who will be taking the place of the Avengers as the preeminent heroes of Earth. Which means, naturally, a new ongoing series will be launching titled Maximum X-Men. Written by Christopher Yost with art by Tony Daniel, the comic will hit shelves starting December 2, 2026. In it, Ororo leads a new squad that's a mix of prominent mutants that have been Avengers over the years, alongside some big time X-Men members.

The series is centering on an invasion of Earth coming from Annihilus and the Negative Zone. Yost says that his series draws a lot of inspiration from the original Secret Wars comic when the X-Men stepped up to take on Galactus. Yost says that this series is "the X-Men reminding the world they’re heroes. It’s not about mutants or humans; it’s about saving the world." Tony Daniel, meanwhile, is thrilled to be drawing the X-Men, stating that "It’s as close as I’ve come to drawing a movie. It’ll be worth all the work we’re pouring into this series, and I think fans will be excited to see what’s in store!"
