Game Review Criteria

Below is how we score games here at Bits & Bytes. We grade games on a scale 0f 1 to 10. If Bits & Bytes was provided a review copy of a game, this will be noted in the review. However, all games are graded on the same criteria and this does not impact our recommendations.

  • 10: Masterpiece
    • A flawless game​.
  • 9: Brilliant
    • An amazing game with minimal flaws. Does something incredibly novel, memorable, or both.​
  • 8: Great
    • A game with some flaws that are overcome by the sum of its parts.​
  • 7: Good
    • A flawed game that is still fun but nothing special.​
  • 6: Above Average
    • A game with notable flaws, but is still able to mildly entertain.​
  • 5: Average
    • Playable but nothing more. Forgotten soon thereafter.​
  • 4: Bad
    • Filled with flaws, but still might present enough interesting or fun bits to make it worth a play.​
  • 3: Terrible
    • Massively flawed game that is consistently unenjoyable to play.​
  • 2: Laughable
    • So bad that it can be unintentionally entertaining, but not likely to be worth most people's time and money.​
  • 1: Unplayable​​
    • ​Unmitigated failure.​
