Launch Party Plans Revealed For Switch 2 at Nintendo New York & San Francisco

Nintendo will have limited Switch 2 consoles available for purchase for those without a pre-order.

Nintendo Switch 2 will be hitting retailers on June 5, 2025, which is a scant 12 days from now. People are pulsing with anticipation for the new system, but stock has been frustratingly hard to get a hold of with most pre-orders selling out rapidly back on April 24. While it will likely be many months before consumers can just walk into a store and buy a Switch 2, Nintendo is offering one, last shot on launch day via its brick-and-mortar retail locations in New York and San Francisco. Announced on X, here's the company's plans for events at both stores before and on the big day:

First, on June 4 fans can come into the stores to celebrate starting at 1 PM PST in SF and 3 PM EST in New York. It'll be a first come, first served sort of situation, so cue up early if you're interested in attending. It's the later part of the event, however, that will likely catch more people's attentions, however, as that's where Nintendo will be opening up a special Nintendo Switch 2 Shopping Session at each shop.

Those will kick off at 9 PM PST in SF and 12 AM (on 06.05) in NY, respectively. If you weren't able to get your hands on a Nintendo Switch 2 pre-order, this could be your lucky break. Note that this part of the festivities is going to be invite-only. You'll need a Warp Pipe Pass to get in, with Nintendo saying that details are "coming soon."
