DC Shows Off Covers and Logos For Absolute Universe Comics

We also get to see Jim Lee's take on the characters' new looks.

DC's Absolute Universe publishing initiative is set to kickoff this fall when Absolute Batman #1 launches on October 9, 2024. Previously, fans had gotten a look at some of the covers and design work for the series, but now DC has finally provided everyone with a look at the cover logos, which include the returning Milton Glaser DC Comics logo fans love. Take a look:

Interestingly, there doesn't seem to be a unifying style of cover dress other than the word "Absolute" at the top of each character logo. There's no singular stylistic choice like Marvel's Ultimate line has with the white bar running down the left side of every cover and the book name printed vertically, a quality that immediately lets readers know it's an Ultimate comic versus Marvel's other series. DC itself did something similar with its All Star line of comics back in the 2000s. It seems for Absolute Universe, DC will simply be expecting customers to pay careful attention to the titles of the books.

Besides these main covers, DC also released Jim Lee's variants for these three books, which you can see below:

Finally, DC also offers a look at the remaining variant covers for all three series by Wes Craig, Jeff Dekal. Dan Panosian, Matteo Scalera, Mitch Gerads, and Ian Bertram. You can get a gander of them by clicking the link down below. We're not too far from the launch of Absolute Universe—here's hoping that these books will be able to deliver on the hype that DC is building up for them.
