This "metaphysical car crash" arrives in November.

Lest ye have forgotten, Marvel and DC made a big hullabaloo about their first big company crossover in decades by announcing that Batman and Deadpool would be meeting up later this year. Marvel are first out the gates with Deadpool/Batman #1 in September, and we got a decent overview of who's making it and what to expect from the story. Now, DC has finally done the same with its Batman/Deadpool #1, which will launch on November 19, 2025.
The book is being illustrated by Dan Mora, but DC is leaning more heavily into writer Grant Morrison for the marketing. Described as "a metaphysical car crash," Batman/Deadpool #1 will feature a story that "questions their very existence as fictional constructs." Apparently, DC is banking on fans being drawn into a story that relies heavily on Morrison at most zany. Here's a bit more from the press release:

With a main story by Grant Morrison and Dan Mora, Batman/Deadpool #1 launches a reality-bending saga that’s equal parts cosmic horror, slapstick noir, and metafictional therapy session. It’s the kind of comic book that knows it’s a comic book, revels in being a comic book, weaponizes its comic bookiness—and dares you to keep reading anyway!
That's right, the comic (which rings in at $7.99) will feature four backup stories, but, uh...maybe temper your expectations. Here's what you can expect:
Scott Snyder, James Tynion IV, and Joshua Williamson, and Hayden Sherman: Constantine meets Doctor Strange.
Tom Taylor and Bruno Redondo: Nightwing (Dick Grayson) and Wolverine (Laura Kinney).
Mariko Tamaki and Amanda Conner: Harley Quinn vs. Hulk.
G. Willow Wilson and Denys Cowan: Static and Ms. Marvel.
Talk about an absolute crapshoot in terms of talent. If the goal is to build hype for this one-shot, shoehorning in this weird assemblage of characters alongside a couple of writers that are absolutely an acquired taste is... baffling. It's been decades, so why not bring in premier creators working on the best characters from both companies? All due respect to Ms. Marvel and X-23, but I think fans would prefer Logan, Storm, and any other number of classic characters.
Ah, well. Hopefully the core story will make up for some (potentially) lackluster backups. Now, it goes without saying that this comic will feature a bevy of variant covers, but for a change they're pretty interesting/tantalizing. They also boast the sorts of creators and crossovers that would be a lot more engaging than what is being offered. Here's the list (and the covers):
Dan Mora – Batman/Deadpool wraparound
Lee Bermejo – The Joker/Doctor Doom
Mark Brooks – Zatanna/Scarlet Witch
Jim Cheung and Jay David Ramos – Wonder Woman/Captain America
Amanda Conner and Alex Sinclair – Harley Quinn/Hulk
Nick Dragotta and Frank Martin – Batman/The Punisher
Jenny Frison – Wonder Woman/Storm
Andy Kubert and Alejandro Sánchez – Robin (Damian Wayne)/Gambit
Jae Lee and June Chung – Big Barda/Savage Land Rogue
Jim Lee, Scott Williams and Alex Sinclair – Batman/Wolverine
Alexander Lozano – Wonder Woman/Ms. Marvel
Sean Murphy and Simon Gough – Lobo/Deadpool
Frank Quitely – Batman/Deadpool
Bruno Redondo – Nightwing (Dick Grayson)/Wolverine (Laura Kinney)
Hayden Sherman – John Constantine/Doctor Strange

Sozomaika – Catwoman/Emma Frost
Dan Mora – Batman/Deadpool foil variant

Jim Lee drawing Wolverine again? Jae Lee drawing a sexy Rogue and Big barda? And damn but Frank Quitely is a bad, bad man—if anyone knows how to do composition and posing, it is he. It will likely be a nightmare to collect all of these covers, but odds are decent they'll be included in whatever collected edition DC and Marvel end up offering later on, so maybe don't go breaking the bank, unless you are absolutely smitten with one or two of these.
