It will be writer Al Ewing's first ongoing DC work.
DC's Absolute Universe publishing initiative begins this October with Absolute Batman. It will be followed by the remainder of the DC trinity, with Absolute Superman and Absolute Wonder Woman to follow after that. DC isn't quite done adding books to the line, however, as Absolute Green Lantern will be joining in on the fun come March 2025. The book will be written by Al Ewing and artist Jahnoy Lindsay. It will mark Ewing's first ongoing series at DC.
Scott Snyder revealed the news during DC's Jim Lee & Friends panel at San Diego Comic-Con this past weekend. Of the story, Snyder says that it will be a "first contact" tale, featuring multiple Green Lanterns including Hal Jordan and John Stewart. There isn't a lot to go on besides that, but given the Absolute lineup's defining trait so far has been, "character X but without a defining aspect of their mythos!" it's possible the solicit for Absolute Green Lantern might be "no corps, no central battery, no mission to patrol the cosmos!" We jest, of course, but once we have more details we'll be sure to share them with you.
