Things take a turn for the somber in this last teaser before the film comes out Friday.
Deadpool & Wolverine has a lot riding on it for Disney. Where Marvel Studios could once do no wrong, numerous projects have either crashed and burned on the Disney+ streaming service or in theaters. With films like Captain America: Brave New World receiving multiple reshoots and a budget alleged to be inching towards half a billion dollars, and other similarly expensive Disney projects like Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny incurring massive financial losses, Ryan Reynolds and Hugh Jackman's introduction of the X-Men into the MCU needs to hit a home run. If the teasers are anything to go off of, Deadpool & Wolverine might just be the injection of adrenaline that Marvel Studios needs.
Note, the film is rated R, so click on the trailer below with that in mind:
Notably, the tone of this trailer compared to previous ones is a lot less bombastic, instead opting to take a more somber approach. While Deadpool might have a lot of faith in Wolverine, the latter is very down on himself in this film. Humor will undoubtedly be part of the adventure, but if Marvel can strike a good balance between funny and serious, this movie might go a long way in restoring some of the luster on the studio's brand. Deadpool & Wolverine comes out this Friday, July 26, 2024. We'll have a review up soon thereafter, so keep it tuned to Bits & Bytes to get our reaction.
