Warner Bros. Shows Off A Minecraft Movie in A New Teaser

The film comes to theaters in 2025.

Announced back in January of this year, A Minecraft Movie is Warner Bros.' upcoming adaptation of Mojang and Microsoft's best-selling video game. Starring Jack Black, Jason Mamoa, Sebastian Eugene Hansen, Emma Myers, and Danielle Brooks, the film is set to launch sometime in 2025. Up until now, not much has been known about what A Minecraft Movie will entail, but thankfully Warner Bros. has just put out a fresh teaser to give fans a sense of what to expect. Take a look:

Here's a bit more about what A Minecraft Movie is all about:

Welcome to the world of Minecraft, where creativity doesn’t just help you craft, it’s essential to one’s survival! Four misfits—Garrett “The Garbage Man” Garrison (Momoa), Henry (Hansen), Natalie (Myers) and Dawn (Brooks)—find themselves struggling with ordinary problems when they are suddenly pulled through a mysterious portal into the Overworld: a bizarre, cubic wonderland that thrives on imagination. To get back home, they’ll have to master this world (and protect it from evil things like Piglins and Zombies, too) while embarking on a magical quest with an unexpected, expert crafter, Steve (Black). Together, their adventure will challenge all five to be bold and to reconnect with the qualities that make each of them uniquely creative…the very skills they need to thrive back in the real world.

Once we have an exact release date, we'll be sure to let you all know. While there have been recent successful video game adaptations based on franchises like Sonic and Super Mario, there have been failure, too, like the recent catastrophe that was Borderlands. Where will A Minecraft Movie land? We'll all find out together next year.
