The First Trailer for The Mandalorian and Grogu Has Dropped

The film will be the first Star Wars movie in seven years when it launches next May.

Announced back in 2024, The Mandalorian and Grogu was revealed to be the next chapter in the story of the odd duo. Since then Lucasfilm and Disney have been quiet about the film, but that all changed yesterday when the first trailer for the project was revealed. Take a look:

Not a lot is known about the plot of The Mandalorian and Grogu, but here's what Lucasfilm said in a press release:

From toppling Imperial remnant AT-ATs to venturing into a gladiator fight where the creatures from Dejarik have become larger than life, and an impressive Hutt can be glimpsed in silhouette, the Mandalorian and Grogu are on a course for action and adventure.

The film stars Pedro Pascal and Sigourney Weaver, and is directed by Jon Favreau. When it launches on May 22, 2026, it will be the first Star Wars project to come to theaters since Stars Wars: The Rise of Skywalker in 2019. In the seven years since, the fanbase has been fractured by lackulster content and divisive rhetoric coming from Disney, Lucasfilm, and some of the talent attached to the brand.
