From the team that made Tetris Effect: Connected.

Finally! Lumines is getting its first all-new installment in 13 years (the last game was Lumines: Electronic Symphony on PlayStation Vita). Even Lumines Remastered (a remake of the first game) is getting a little long in the tooth—it launched seven years ago in 2018. Now, fans are getting a proper sequel, and it's coming from the same team that produced Tetris Effect: Connected. Lumines Arise is slated for a fall launch and is looking to expand upon the stunning visuals and catchy music of its predecessors. Here's a look at the gameplay:
Arise looks to be taking cues from Effect with its creative playing fields and block shapes, but to be fair, that was already a hallmark of the Lumines series. Regardless, the sights and sounds on display here appear to be a promising mix that will hopefully reinvigorate the franchise and pull in new and old players, alike. Lumines is a falling block puzzle game where players must match four of the same color/themed block to make them disappear. Form chains as the time sweeper drags across the playing field to disappear the blocks, all to the rhythm of a beat—a beat that players subtly add to via chimes and tones emitted during gameplay.
Fans will be able to trip the light fantastic this fall when Lumines Arise hits PlayStation 5 and PlayStation VR2, and Steam.
