Rock Band 4 to be Delisted After a Decade of Availability

As the anniversary looms, so too does the expiration of the game's licenses.

It's the end of an era. Originally going on sale back in October of 2015, Harmonix's Rock Band 4 is rapidly approaching its tenth anniversary this coming weekend. While that decade is an impressive milestone, it's going to be marked in a rather dour way, as Rock Band 4 will be delisted from the PlayStation and Xbox digital marketplaces come October 5, 2025.
Community manager Kyle Wynn had this to say about what to expect following the delisting:

If you already own the game, nothing changes – you’ll keep full access and still be able to download the game and songs to any new, compatible devices. The same applies to Downloadable Content (DLC) – songs will come down as they hit the 10-year mark, but anything you’ve purchased will remain in your library.
In terms of game preservation this is a total letdown, as delistings of digital content make preserving games and their full experiences very difficult. If you're interested in getting Rock Band 4 for yourself, there's still time, but you'll have to act fast before the Sunday cutoff.
