State of Play: Onimusha: Way of the Sword Unsheathes This September

Does Capcom have another hit on its hands?

Capcom is having one heck of a year. Resident Evil: Requiem, Pragmata, and Monster Hunter Stories 3 have all been great. And for many studios, a year with three big titles like that would be quite a turkey. However, with the release of Onimusha: Way of the Sword on the horizon, Capcom is officially vying for a hambone. Yesterday during Sony's State of Play presentation, Capcom pulled back the curtain on Onimusha's release date. Take a look:

Onimusha: Way of the Sword comes to PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC on September 25, 2026. It's been 20 years since the last series installment (Onimusha: Dawn of Dreams back in 2006), so there's a lot up in the air in terms of what to expect. Will the game please longtime fans? Will it draw in new ones? We'll find out in a few months when Way of the Sword hits the market.
