The game had originally been teased back in 2021.

You can't win 'em all, as the saying goes, and in the case of SEGA, that means not every project is going to be a winner—or in some cases, even make across the finish line. In the case of SEGA's Super Game, it's going to fall into the latter category. The title was teased back in 2o21, but SEGA is now saying that the project will never see the light of day.

Revealed in the company's recent quarterly report, SEGA went over a number of different things, including its Games As A Service goals. The GaaS slide in the report revealed that the Super Game was intended to be a live service title of some kind prior to its cancelation. Described in 2021 as being "innovative" and with the intent to build community online while embracing multiple IPs, it was never exactly clear what Super Game was going to be. And it's likely fans will never fully know given it won't be coming out.
SEGA also made a point of saying that it will be moving away from F2P or Free to Play games in the future. The company cited low performance of existing offerings like Sonic Rumble Party and stated that some 100 staffers have now moved over to Full Game development of "mainstay IPs." SEGA has announced that legacy IPs are being dusted off for revivals, so it's likely that those projects are what those workers will be focusing on.
