The unlucky customers have been taking to social media to vent.

We're virtually at the finish line leading up to the launch of Nintendo Switch 2, and while many fans are excitedly counting down the hours until this Thursday, others are lamenting what could have been. Not because they missed out on a pre-order (although there are many such cases), but rather because their pre-order was unceremoniously canceled. Many people have taken to social media to complain about various major retailers canceling their Switch 2 pre-orders, including GameStop, Walmart, and Target.

This is terrible news for consumers, as getting hold of a pre-order in the first place was already hard enough. To have the rug pulled out from under them like this has been a hard pill to swallow for many. Retailers are giving various excuses, including claims that customers payments have been declined, errors in the ordering process, or realizing too late that they allocated more units than they actually received from Nintendo. Needless to say, anyone who has place a Nintendo Switch 2 pre-order should double-check their inbox to see the latest status of their purchase.
