Scott Snyder is on writing duties.

While the concept of company crossovers has become rather rote over the past decade (at. least), DC seems to be bringing fans something a little different this time around. Starting in October, DC K.O. will be kicking off. In this event, 32 champions from the DC universe will be fighting to take on the ultimate battle against Darkseid. Here's the solicit from DC itself, as well as a promotional trailer from Joshua Williams and Scott Snyder:
Heroes will rise. Legends will fall. It’s time for a cosmic throwdown! DC today announced its next comic book event by co-architects Joshua Williamson and Scott Snyder: DC K.O.! This fall, the gloves come off as the greatest superheroes in the universe enter the arena in a thunderous tournament where the stakes are sky-high, and the cost of victory may be too steep to bear. Starting in October, this publishing event puts heroes to the ultimate test of strength, loyalty, and knock-down, drag-out brawls. Which 32 fighters will enter the tournament of champions? Who will rise through the brackets and rival Darkseid against his ever-growing Omega powers? And what sinister secret lies at the absolute heart of Apokolips? Get ready for the most fun you’ll have all year (at a death tournament)!
DC K.O. will be written by Scott Snyder, with Javi Fernández handling art. The miniseries is expected to run for five issues and will, naturally, have tie-ins. First, there will be a prelude issue launched on 10.01.25 in the form of Justice League: The Omega Act #1. It will be written by Joshua Williamson and drawn by Yasmine Putri. There will also be several other tie-in issues to keep an eye out for, including Superman #31, Titans #28, The Flash #26, and Justice League Unlimited #12. On Thursday, 10.24.25, those attending the DC What's Next Panel at San Diego Comic-Con '25 will be able to get their hands on this special ashcan preview of DC K.O. #1:

It all certainly sounds exciting, but the biggest problem that DC and Marvel have both had with recent event books has been lasting impact and quality storytelling. Will the stakes in DC K.O. matter? Will the book mean anything even a month after launch? We'll all find out together when DC K.O. #1 hits store shelves starting October 8, 2025.
