"Bridges professional sports, Japanese pop culture, and global storytelling."

If there's anything in particular that sets Japanese comics apart from the West, it's the abundance of zany, wild stories that manga seems to produce with complete ease. In the latest example of this creative spirit, VIZ has announced that it will be partnering with MLB Players, Inc., OneTeam Partners, and Acky Bright’s BW NYC Studios, Inc. to produce an all-new manga that promises to "[bridge] professional sports, Japanese pop culture, and global storytelling." GalaXic Baseball League is the name of this new manga, and it's slated to hit comic book shops and bookstores starting in October. If you're inclined towards digital, you'll get to start earlier on `July 2, 2026.

Here's how VIZ describes GalaXic Baseball League:
In the distant future, baseball has rocketed into the cosmos. What was once America’s pastime is now a high-stakes interplanetary competition in which teams from every corner of the universe battle for glory. Amid a sinister plot to wreak havoc on the galaxy, legendary baseball players team up with two unlikely heroes in their quest to save Earth – and the heart and soul of baseball.
VIZ is excited to bring this manga to readers, stating that GalaXic Baseball League will be "the world’s first original manga IP that includes active baseball players, with story and artwork created by the singular Acky Bright. A world-renowned Japanese visual artist and mangaka, Acky Bright is known for his iconic 'WcDonald’s' global campaign and critically acclaimed work with DC Comics and Marvel."
As ever, if you're interested in reading, please head to a comic shop or a local book seller to reserve a copy.
