A Sue Storm variant from another dimension makers her arrival.

Marvel describes Ryan North and Humberto Ramos' Fantastic Four run as being both "acclaimed" and "celebrated." By whom isn't exactly clear (although Ramos' art is always worthy of a look), but Marvel is at least trying to create a facade of interest in the book as its sixth issue approaches with that thing fans have been clamoring for more of—an alternate universe character. That bit about clamoring for another alternate universe character was sarcasm, by the way.

That's right, the multiverse is rearing its overused head once more, this time in the form of an evil alternate Sue Richards. Meet the Invincible Woman, a twisted iteration of Sue reminiscent of her Malice persona which first crept up in 1985's Fantastic Four #280. Invincible Woman is a predictable contemporary enemy in that she's evil, but, well, there's a very good reason why she's evil, as the press release puts it:

Driven mad by her power and tormented by a tragic mistake that cost her everything.

Also in typical fashion, writer Ryan North reveals that Reed going evil (The Maker, from Marvel's original Ultimate Universe) was never the real threat—it was Sue all along that everyone should have been worried about:

She's smart, she's funny, and she's determined. The Invincible Woman isn't our Sue Storm—and our Sue Storm isn't going anywhere—but she is a version of her that had different things happen over the course of her life. Of course, we've seen a similar situation with The Maker, but the true danger of the Fantastic Four was never an evil Reed Richards—it's an unchained Susan Storm.

In fairness, Sue is the most powerful member of the time from an abilities standpoint, so there's certainly some interesting, twisted story possibilities that could come from her going bad. However, current day comic book writers tend to come at these sorts of stories from all the wrong angles, so we'll have to wait and see if this proves to be a memorable moment for the FF or just another generic, forgettable foe.

If nothing else, Marvel Rivals fans will be pleased to know that if they pick up FF #6 on 12.03.25, they'll be able to redeem a code for a free MALICE WILL RULE spray/skin to use in-game.
