Here are the biggest announcements from the recent showcase.

The past couple of weeks have been insane for video game fans, as Nintendo, Sony, Microsoft, and the industry at large via Summer Games Fest have all had their big summer showcases for the year, revealing to the world a litany of new games and products to look forward to. Prime among them was Nintendo with its Nintendo Direct broadcast last week showing off the array of projects it has on the way. A mixture of first-party and third-party offerings, it was a lot to keep track of, so let's get right into the best of the best from that broadcast:
The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time Remake
This was hands-down the biggest announcement of the day from Nintendo, the long-rumored remake of The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of TIme. It's coming to Nintendo Switch 2 in 2026, but other than the scroll and overhead shot of Young Link snoozing, there's really no indication of what to expect from this new Ocarina of Time. Link's been redesigned (and maybe not for the better, that leather doesn't look right), and the presence of a narration suggests this version of the game might have full voice acting. Other than that, it's all guesswork until Nintendo opts to show fans more.
Xenoblade Genesis
A new installment in the Xenoblade saga will be coming to Switch 2 in 2027 with Xenoblade Genesis. It's being promoted as a "new beginning" for the franchise. If the verdant field and blue skies overhead in the thumbnail are anything to go off of, however, this game is likely to feel familiar to Xenoblade fans, regardless. There's also a trio of Nintendo Switch 2 versions of Xenoblade Chronicles, Xenoblade Chronicles 2, and Xenoblade Chronicles 3, which you can learn more about at this link. In brief, the first game is already out, with the other two coming later in the summer and then in the winter. There are also physical options planned.
Fire Emblem: Fortune's Weave Drops in September
The latest entry in the Fire Emblem series, Fire Emblem: Fortune's Weave, will hit Nintendo Switch 2 on September 17, 2026. The game follows a set of four new antagonists in the city of Dagsion as they participate in something called the Heroic Games. Expect Fire Emblem's signature mix of drama and strategy RPG gameplay for this one.
Nintendo Switch Sports Resort Waggles Its Way Into October

Pokémon Pokopia Getting Free and Paid DLC
Pokémon Pokopia has proven to be quite the smash hit for Nintendo and The Pokémon Company International. Likely keen to capitalize on its success, it was revealed that both paid and free DLC are coming to the game. The paid Expansion Pass contains the following goodies:
Part 1: Bubbly Basin, scheduled for release in August 2026.
Part 2: Scheduled for release in late 2026.
Part 3: Scheduled for release in 2027.
The free DLC is the move Dive, which allows players to explore underwater and create new living spaces. All of the fun kicks off in August.
All of the Kingdom Hearts Games Are Coming to Switch 2
Kingdom Hearts Collection [I~III] brings everything from the series so far to Switch 2 on October 8, 2026. Here are the games included:
Kingdom Hearts -HD 1.5+2.5 ReMIX-
Kingdom Hearts Final Mix
Kingdom Hearts Re:Chain of Memories
Kingdom Hearts 358/2 Days (HD Remastered cinematics)
Kingdom Hearts II Final Mix
Kingdom Hearts Birth by Sleep Final MIX
Kingdom Hearts Re:coded (HD Remastered cinematics)
Kingdom Hearts HD 2.8 Final Chapter Prologue
Kingdom Hearts Dream Drop Distance
Kingdom Hearts Birth by Sleep – A Fragmentary Passage –
Kingdom Hearts χ Back Cover
Kingdom Hearts III + Re Mind (DLC)
Yes, that's a heck of a lot of Kingdom Hearts right there. Note that A Fragmentary Passage is a brief interlude that fills in some of Aqua's story, while Kingdom Hearts χ Back Cover is a movie that fills in more lore details. And if all that ain't enough, Kingdom hearts IV will launch on Switch 2 alongside all other versions of the game:
No release date yet, but we'll let you all know once it's been announced.
Capcom is Bringing Onimusha: Way of the Sword and Dragon's Dogma 2: Dark Arisen to Switch 2
You'll have to click through to YouTube to watch the trailers, but both Onimusha: Way of the Sword and Dragon's Dogma 2: Dark Arisen will be coming to Nintendo Switch 2. It's certainly a pleasant surprise for fans, as Capcom continues to spoil the console with excellent release after excellent release. Onimusha drops September 25, 2026, while Dragon's Dogma 2 hits October 9, 2026. other Capcom titles are on the way, as well, including Devil May Cry 5: Devil Hunter Edition (06.23.26) and Monster Hunter Wilds, which is now in development for Switch 2.
Stellar Blade Releases Later This Year
Another naughty trailer according to YouTube, but Stellar Blade will come to Switch 2.... at some point in 2026. Regardless, that's great news for action game fans, as Stellar Blade was a gem when it launched in other platforms back in 2024.
SEGA Bringing Metaphor: ReFantazio to Switch 2 in November
From the dream team behind Persona 5 comes Metaphor: ReFantazio. Nintendo fans will finally get to give the game a try when it launches on November 12, 2026 for Switch 2.
Some other notable pieces of software on the way include Deltarune Chapter 5 on June 24, 2026, HD-2D RPG Final Fantasy Resonance on October 22, 2026, Lies of P: Complete Edition on August 6, 2026, and Lords of the Fallen II this fall alongside all other versions of the game. It's a pretty stacked year for Switch 2 owners if you include all the third-party releases, but even first-party offerings are pretty decent.
