My Nintendo Store Changing Name to Nintendo Store

The move becomes official later this month.

As large corporations are wont to do, Nintendo has decided that one of its services is in dire need of a name change. The service in question this time around is My Nintendo Store. It will be getting a massive overhaul... oh, wait. Strike that. Nintendo is taking out the "My" in the title. And, well, that's about it.

As for why Nintendo is making this change, mum's the word. Perhaps it's an effort to simplify the name to make the branding more closely line up with other services offered by Nintendo? What we do know that the same revamp is coming to multiple other regions, including Japan, so it won't just be the U.S. The change goes into effect on May 27, 2026.
