This novel follows the events of the film shorty thereafter and is written by John Jackson Miller.

What was that? Batman Returns is the sequel to the 1989 Batman film? Well, you're not wrong, but John Jackson Miller's upcoming Batman: Resurrection is a novel that explores the aftermath of that initial film roughly several months after the chaotic, horrifying climax of the Joker's parade attack. Batman: Resurrection explores what Miller describes as "the New Abnormal" for the denizens of Gotham who are now struggling to adapt to this post-Batman world they find themselves in.

Along with the state of Gotham, the book will also dive into the relationship between Bruce and Vicki Vale, and where she disappeared to by the time Batman Returns kicks off. The book is set to hit bookstores and comic book shops starting October 15, 2024.
