Four characters are potential hosts of the symbiote.
Venom is getting a makeover. Again.
Word has come from Marvel that following the conclusion of the Venom War crossover event that the symbiote will be merging with a new host who is neither Eddie nor Dylan (Eddie's son) Brock. The suit will also take on a new look, as well, with a redesigned, golden spider on the chest and golden eyes. However, while the suit is getting a tweak, writer Al Ewing is planning to return Venom to a more grounded, "Spider-Man-level" storyline after years of cosmic adventures.
So, who might be in the suit? There are four choices, according to Marvel and Ewing:
Luke Cage
Rick Jones
Robbie Robertson
Madame Masque
Our money is on Luke given the golden accents on the symbiote, but it's anyone's guess, at this point. Ewing says that one way this Venom is earning the "all-new" moniker is by utilizing the symbiote's powers in ways fans have never seen before. Ewing goes on to describe a bit more about what to expect:
One way the All-New Venom is different is that it has a more heroic-looking Venom. I won’t get into the visuals, I’ll just mention in passing that there is a new look for Venom. But previously, there’s been a lot of gooeyness, a lot of tendrils, a lot of, like, ooze and goop and slime and fangs and teeth. This is maybe a little bit more of a solid Venom. It gives us the advantage that we can pull off all kinds of exciting new tricks and fun new things, right from issue 1
All-New Venom #1 by writer Al Ewing and artist Carlos Gómez, with a cover by Adam Kubert, launches in December.
