State of Play: Ghost of Yotei Announced for 2025

The sequel to Ghost of Tsushima has been revealed as Sucker Punch's next project.

During the recent State of Play broadcast, PlayStation revealed that developer Sucker Punch is hard at work on a sequel to Ghost of Tsushima. Ghost of Yōtei was shown off for the first time and looks to be quite the followup. It had been rumored that this was what Sucker Punch has been working on for the past few years, and now the rumors seem to have been proven true. Give it a look:

The game follows a new protagonist named Atsu as she makes her way through Japan in the lands surrounding Mount Yōtei. She'll travel through grasslands, freezing tundra, and more as she takes on a variety of dangers. Ghost of Tsushima was quite the triumph for Sucker Punch and Sony, with the former being made honorary ambassadors of Tsushima, which is located in Nagasaki, Japan owing to its inspiring dedication to the region's history. Will history repeat itself? We'll find out next year when Ghost of Yōte comes to PlayStation 5.
