The game will launch in August.

Metal Gear Solid Δ: Snake Eater is set to launch on August 28, 2025, and it marks the return to the world of video games of the legendary stealth series pioneered by Hideo Kojima. After a falling out between Kojima and Konami following the release of Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain (and outside of the oddity that is Metal Gear Survive), the franchise has gone dormant without any new mainline entries for years. Although Konami and Kojima have not made amends and reunited, the former is marching ahead with this remake of Metal Gear Solid 3.
It's unclear if MGSΔ will be able to live up to the pedigree of Kojima's original—the designer is notorious for his attention to detail and fixation on perfecting virtually every aspect of the games he works on—but the game is at least looking the part. A new trailer was shown off during yesterday's State of Play showcase that highlights the game's bosses. Give it a watch:
In a fitting nod to Metal Gear Solid's trademark quirkiness, fans also got a look at the new Ape Escape mode, as well as what seems to be some sort of return for Metal Gear Online. Metal Gear Online was an online multiplayer game for PlayStation 3 that launched alongside Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots. The original shut down in 2012. It's unclear exactly what this new version might entail other than sharing the same name. Once we learn more, we'll share it with all of you.
