There's no stopping the Blue Blur's movie career.

Sonic the Hedgehog 3 was yet another major success for SEGA and its beloved mascot. Indeed, many a fan consider it to be the best of the trilogy of films released... so far. Because yes, Sonic 3 will not be the end, in case the stinger at the conclusion of the film wasn't enough of a clue.

Sonic the Hedgehog 4 has been confirmed to be in development by Paramount and SEGA. At this point there's nothing to report on in terms of plot, actors, director, etc., but with $425 million in the bank from Sonic 3 alone and a total for the trilogy in excess of $1 billion, one would assume all parties involved would be wise to take a "if it ain't broke, don't fix it" approach to the next installment. Sonic 4 will release in theaters starting March 19, 2027.
