Play! Pokémon Access is a New App For Competitive Players

Competitive Pokémon players might be pleased to know that The Pokémon Company International has put out an all-new mobile app specifically with them in mind. Dubbed the Play! Pokémon Access app, this new program is designed to help competitive players connect across Pokémon GO, Pokémon TCG, and the Pokémon video games. Here's how the Pokémon Company describes the app:

The Play! Pokémon program brings Trainers of all skill levels together at their local Play! Pokémon stores, where battles are fought, friendships are forged, prizes are won, and—most importantly—fun is had by all. Launching August 4 in North America and the rest of South America, the Play! Pokémon Access app will make it easier than ever for Trainers to stay connected.

Via the app, players will be able to:

• Check into in-store tournaments

• View upcoming premier events

• Review your Championship Point totals for the season

• Look back at previous in-store tournaments you’ve attended

• Use the Event Locator to track favorite stores and their events

• Search for favorite cards and view card translations

• Collect virtual badges for completing missions, such as attending in-store events

The app will be available for download in North America starting on August 4, 2025. You can utilize it on an Android or iOS device.
