51 employees have been effected.

Ubisoft is no stranger to layoffs, and once again the company is reducing staff to cut costs. Following the launch of Assassin's Creed Black Flag Resynced, Ubisoft announced that it has parted ways with 51 staffers from its Barcelona offices. This reduction had been previously announced and resulted in a strike by Ubisoft Barcelona workers that is in effect until July 17, 2026.

The hope by the striking workers is that Ubisoft will refrain from laying off any further personnel from the Barcelona offices for a five-year period. In the interim, Ubisoft is refocusing Barcelona's efforts exclusively on the Rainbow Six franchise moving froward. Ubisoft alleges that this most recent round of layoffs will be the last for the foreseeable future as part of the company's restructuring efforts.
