It launches in February 2026.

Capcom really knocked the socks off of fans with its reveal of Resident Evil 9, or rather, Resident Evil Requiem during Summer Game Fest 2025. The horror-survival game is leaning into the scary, tense roots of the original RE games, putting an emphasis on tension, panic, and scrambling to stay alive from moment to moment. During Gamescom 2025, another look at the game was offered, which you can see right here:
Here's a breakdown of what Requiem is all about:
A new era of survival horror begins in 2026 with the ninth title in the mainline Resident Evil series. Technological advancements combined with the development team's depth of experience combine in a story with rich characters and gameplay that's more immersive than ever before.
Grace Ashcroft, a technical analyst for the FBI, is ordered to inspect the Wrenwood Hotel as part of an investigation into deaths caused by an unidentified disease. What she finds there will lead her to where it all began: Raccoon City.
A new protagonist, but one with roots in the series. Fans might remember Grace's mother, Alyssa, from the Resident Evil: Outbreak games on PlayStation 2 from back in the day. While Capcom had considered putting Leon S. Kennedy back in to star, the devs felt that Grace would afford them more opportunities to ramp up the fear factor, as she's not the hardened RE veteran that Leon is (would anyone be scared of anything after living through the events of Resident Evil 4?).
Resident Evil Requiem launches of PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC via Steam on February 27, 2026.
