The series kicks off in November.
Don't forget that besides Absolute Universe, DC is also gearing up for its new All In publishing drive, which will see its mainline series get various new directions, creative teams, and jumping on points. While a number of series were highlighted back in July, DC is continuing to build up interest by slowly announcing other new comics coming from All In. The latest is Batgirl #1 by writer Tate Brombal and artist Takeshi Miyazawa. Take a look all of the covers revealed so far:
Cover artists include Miyazawa as well as Jeff Dekal, Stanley “Artgerm” Lau, and Skylar Patridge. Here's a bit about what to expect from the story, which will be bringing Cassandra Cain back to star, via DC's press release:
When a deadly group of assassins shows up to kill Cassandra Cain, Lady Shiva must come to the rescue, and they’re forced to put their complicated past aside and work together as mother and daughter to ensure they make it out alive. Unfortunately, things are never as easy as they seem, and Batgirl must embark on a jaw-dropping, martial-arts filled adventure in her quest for truth and justice…and revenge?! This is a Batgirl unlike any other so don’t miss the opportunity to dive into the psyche of one of Gotham City’s deadliest fighters, while exploring her deep and complex relationship with her mother.
Brombal promises that the series will provide "family drama, long-buried secrets coming to light, and LOTS of martial arts ass-kicking." Batgirl #1 hits comic book shops on November 6, 2024.
