The signature black and red suit is making a comeback!

Poor Miles Morales just can't catch a break. Relaunch after relaunch of his comic book series continue to fall flat, while in the world of cartoons, animation, and video games he shines bright. It's a problem facing a lot of the mighty Marvel pantheon these days, but perhaps a light doth break at the end of the tunnel as popular writer Bryan Edward Hill of Ultimate Black Panther fame is stepping up to make things right for Brooklyn's Spider-Man. Alongside artist Nico Leon, Miles Morales: Spider-Man #1 will hit your local comic book shop on August 12, 2026.
First, here's a preview of the issue (including the Simone Di Meo covers for issues one and two):
Along with a return to Miles' iconic black and red costume, he's also getting back to basics with school, homework, and fighting crime on the streets of Brooklyn. There's also a new villain on the way to make Miles' life miserable named Grendel, who has a connection Miles' father Jeff's time with S.H.I.E.L.D. Will Hill be able to replicate the quality of his Ultimate Black Panther run in an all-new setting with a character whose tone is wildly different from T'Challa and the world of Wakanda? Fans will find out this summer.
