The actor had recently survived a battle with blood cancer before his passing.

Sam Neill, the beloved New Zealand actor famous for roles in Jurassic Park and Peaky Blinders, has died at 78. The death was sudden, and made all the more tragic by Neill's recent victory over a rare blood cancer. He had revealed back in April that he was cancer free, much to the delight of his family, friends, and fans.

Neill's family put out a statement about his passing, but did not specify how he died. However, in the time since the news broke, some have claimed that Neill had a case of pneumonia that might be to blame. Neill was quoted as saying that he didn't fear death, but would find it "annoying" as he had many things left that he still wanted to do. Actors and various other Hollywood celebrities have come out with nothing but praise and admiration for Neill, including Steven Spielberg, Laura Dern, and many others.
Neill is survived by his four children. Neill touched a lot of people during his life and we extend our sincere condolences to his family and friends.
