Rumor: Pokémon TCG Pocket Has Generated Over $120 Million in Less Than a Month

The mobile game has been a roaring success since its launch in late October.

Look, after almost three decades fans have come to readily know that Pokémon cards are like printing money for Nintendo and The Pokémon Company International. But who could have guessed that digital versions of those same cards could spark every bit as much excitement among fans? As it so happens, they do, and we know this thanks to the incredible success of Pokémon TCG Pocket.

Launching at the end of October, Pokémon TCG Pocket is a mobile title available on iOS and Android. Since release, the game has allegedly generated north of $120 million. For perspective, it hasn't even been a month since the game launched. This is pretty wild stuff, as outlined by PocketGamer, who has been digging into available data to make this determination.

The game isn't exactly hopping with, well, gameplay, but it does offer players the ability to collect and curate a selection of digital Pokémon TCG cards and even battle with them, so it's apparently enough to woo players in droves. We know that as of last week Pokémon TCG Pocket had been downloaded 30 million times, so it looks like Pokémon GO might finally have a proper mobile title to call brother.
